Losing While Gaining

So, as I mentioned before I am currently doing Weight Watchers, and I am loving it! I love it because, it simply isn't just a diet..I have learned how to change my habits, learn to love healthy food, learn that I can still have treats, and that I love exercising! Fridays are my weigh in days, so I probably will end up talking a lot about those on Fridays on this blog. I just do Weight Watchers online so I weigh in at home and log it online.

I am excited to say that I have lost 9.6 lbs since August 5th, but most of it being since the beginning of September. I lost .8 lbs at my weigh in this morning meaning that I have lost more than 5% of my beginning weight. :)

But, more than just losing pounds, I have gained a lot in the last couple of months. I have gained control over my eating habits, I have gained more confidence, which makes me a happier person. I have gained a lot of knowledge on what healthy weight loss is, I have gained the ability to run, and I have gained so much wisdom from all my friends I have met through the Weight Watchers community. I have also been losing inches and gaining a larger wardrobe simply by being able to fit in clothes I haven't for quite a while.

Anyway, I have a goal weight that I would like to reach by next summer, and I am determined to get there and stay there. I have to thank Luke for a lot of what I have been able to do, he is like my own personal trainer and little angel on my shoulder warning me of the obstacles that could come in my way. We went to Disneyland for 3 days and I still weighed in that Friday while we were in California, and I stayed the same that week! That is a huge accomplishment for me since I normally would use a vacation as an excuse to go crazy. I was also able to walk around the parks for more than 10 hours a day for 3 days plus walking a little over a mile to and from the hotel every day.

I just thought I'd share some of my accomplishments with you, because I am feeling pretty good today! Plus, it's FRIDAY! I hope you all have a great weekend. :)

Seasons

I have been thinking a lot about the seasons lately. With everyone exclaiming October is their favorite month of the year and fall is their favorite season, it made me wonder...what is my favorite season? That's a hard one, I think I like them all! Here's a brief explanation of why I like each one...

Winter- I love bundling up with scarves, boots, gloves and beanies. I love the holidays and all the Christmas lights and New Years. I do not like however how long it lasts. I would be fine with it lasting through the month of December and then be back to Spring. However winter doesn't even officially start until towards the end of December!

Spring- I love being able to run outside and get the mail without having to put on 10 pounds of clothing to make you warm and snow boots to even get to the mail. I love Easter time and my birthday is in May.

Summer- I use to love this time of the year more as a kid because it meant laying around and doing nothing for 3 months. Now, it means that Luke works more instead of working and going to school, it's hot outside, my electric bill goes up and I feel like I should be walking around naked most of the time. But, I do enjoy the general attitude of people during summer. It's carefree, fun loving, going to Lagoon, living in a swimming pool kind of season.

Fall- Like I mentioned before we were married in October, so I do enjoy this time of year to celebrate our time together. I also like the light layers of fashion, and the Halloween festivities. I guess if I HAD to pick, this would be my favorite time of the year because I can't really think of anything too bad about it, except it's not long enough.

Luke and I have always contemplated moving out of state for him to go to school, and we even seriously considered moving to Portland for a job offer Luke had within his company. It would be hard since this is the only place I know. But, at the same time I would love to experience something different. I did tell him I wouldn't move anywhere with a lot of tornadoes, those have been my biggest fear since I can remember. Otherwise, I'm good!

He asked me if I cared about weather..and I like the changing of the seasons, but I wouldn't mind if it stayed nice all year round. He grew up in San Diego so he is STILL adjusting to the winters. He puts on thermals, his regular clothes, 2 pairs of socks, a heavy hoodie or a coat and a beenie to just sit in the house. No, I'm not kidding.

That's all for now...here's a picture to remind you that this time of year is also the best time of year for some hocho! (courtesy of gilmore girls) So, I had to go and get a cup from 7-11 to fill up every morning with our awesome hot cocoa machine...I have no idea what it's actually called.

Introduction

Hello! I'll admit, I'm a little OCD with certain things...and for some reason I really didn't like our old blog and the posts and such...so I decided to start a new one. This will mainly be my thoughts, which a lot of the time include Luke, but since he is definitely not a blogger I figured I'd do one that's officially my own. :)

A little bit about myself...Currently I am working at Columbus Secure Shredding which is part of Columbus Community Center which is part of the Salt Lake School District. Confused? I am too. But, the most important part is we provide jobs to adults with disabilities and on the job training so hopefully they can go out in the community and get a job. My job rocks. I love it. I am an office manager so I handle the billing, the scheduling, answering the phone and anything else that my boss gives me.

I have been married to Luke for 5 amazing years. He is truly the love of my life and the one for me. We have our problems, sure..but the good more than outweighs the bad. We just recently celebrated our 5th year anniversary by going to Disneyland. It was the funnest time I have had with Luke, ever and I did not want to leave.

I am currently on Weight Watchers and trying to be a lot healthier. I have lost 8.8 pounds since the beginning of September and I'm working to be at my goal by next summer. I'm sure I'll talk a lot about that on there, because eating healthy and exercising is taking over my life recently.

I have a lot of thoughts running through my head all the time, and my sisters have always made fun of me by asking what color the sky is in my world. So, I thought I would explore some creativity and vent some of my thoughts on here. If no one reads it, it's kind of like a journal and it will be fun to look back in the future and have this to reference.
